ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION • INITIATIVE 05
Restoring degraded forests, conserving community water sources, revitalizing soil health, and fostering indigenous biodiversity stewardship across Chhattisgarh.
THE CRISIS
Chhattisgarh's vast forest ecosystems and river basins are experiencing escalating degradation due to deforestation, unscientific mining run-off, topsoil erosion, and erratic rainfall patterns. For tribal communities whose culture and survival are inseparable from the forest, environmental degradation represents an existential crisis.
Dreamnest Foundation is dedicated to saving the nature of India through grassroots conservation. We blend traditional tribal ecological wisdom with scientific watershed and regenerative agriculture methodologies.
RESTORATION STRATEGY
Establishing local nurseries of indigenous fruit, timber, and medicinal species for community-led reforestation.
Constructing low-cost contour trenches, check dams, and pond restorations to recharge depleting aquifers.
Promoting chemical-free organic composting, bio-fertilizers, and mulch cover to stop erosion and revive soil microbes.
Partnering with indigenous forest dwellers to safeguard sacred groves, medicinal flora, and vital bird habitats.
ECOLOGICAL GOALS
Replenished groundwater tables and perennial surface water storage for village drinking and micro-irrigation.
Increased forest density and survival of indigenous flora varieties across community-managed lands.
Improved farm productivity and natural resilience to dry spells through organic soil revitalization.
Catchment surveys and community nursery planning are underway in target tribal habitations. Verified tree plantation acreages, sapling survival rates, and water storage metrics will be reported upon completion of field audits.
Your contribution funds native sapling plantations, watershed check-dams, and community water preservation projects.
